
This image shows quite a bit more detail than the one below, an older film image cropped from a much shorter focal length shot. I'm not entirely happy with the color of the dimmer stars on this one but it will have to do for now.
21 x 5 = 105 minute exposure from the Davis Mountains, October 2008. Takahashi TOA 130 Telescope (a 5" APO refractor) with flattener, AP 900GTO mount, and QHY8 CCD Camera & normal workflow.

NGC 6888 in Cygnus, apparently a planetary nebula. This is 100% magnification of two film images stacked. Looking at this image in the red and blue channels reveals quite a bit of detail. Presumably the blue channel information is due to the reflection nebula thing. See my Horsehead Nebula and Trifid Nebula images for more discussion of the types of nebulae.
